My name is Nicole Hill
You’re most likely looking at this page because you want to know more about the person who could become your photographer. You want a peak into the life of the person who will spend your entire wedding day with you. You want to know their story because your photographer will be such a huge part of yours.
So let’s start at the beginning and end with you saying, “This is my photographer.”
I grew up in Kamiah, ID population 1,200. My hometown looks remarkably like the set of an old western movie. Downtown consists of one street. The town doesn’t have a stop light, or a movie theater, or a fast food restaurant. It does have a photography studio. My mother’s photography studio.
My mother is an incredible photographer. When I was a little girl I would watch her turn vintage black and white photographs into color. I watched her and later learned myself how to paint over dust spots created from film. My bedroom was attached to a darkroom where my mom taught me to develop photos. My life has never been without photography.
After graduating college I moved to Boise, ID. I love my community here. My fiance and I live in the most charming part of the city in an old house with glass doorknobs and character around every corner. We ride our beach cruisers to the Saturday Market where we do our grocery shopping. We hold huge champagne breakfasts in our backyard with our lovely friends. We garden and cook the food we produce.
I’m inspired by: anything vintage, my mother’s photography, handmade crafts, folk music, my dear friends, my parents whom raised five children which is an amazing feat in itself but they also did it with love, patience, and encouragement which is remarkable to me.
All of this is a part of me, it is where I’m from. It has shaped me into the photographer and person that I am. When you look at my photos I hope you get it. I hope you see that I don’t want to just take your picture. I want to create something that is going to hang on the walls of your great grandchildren’s houses. I want them to be able to look at those photos and say, “Wow, that is where I came from. Isn’t it beautiful.”
Love these shots! great idea incorporating the town into their wedding photography. Makes it personal and beautiful!
